Anria Breytenbach - Répétiteur

Based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, Anria is a freelance pianist, répétiteur, and accompanist, and a private piano and music theory teacher, who works across both classical and contemporary genres.

Anria first joined Toi Toi Opera in 2025 on a contract basis as cover répétiteur for the company’s season of Riders to the Sea, and she was delighted to rejoin the company in the same role for their July 2026 season of The Merry Widow. She was subsequently invited to join the company’s permanent répétiteur staff in August 2026.

In her teaching life, Anria is extremely passionate about instilling the love of music, and especially the piano, to all of her students, so that music and playing an instrument becomes a part of who they are.

Music gives Anria so much joy and energy daily, and she loves to share that with people.

Anria sees it as a huge privilege to be able to perform, teach, and pay forward what music has given her in her life.
