Wayne Carter - Late Father in Law

Ōtautahi-born Wayne is an experienced tenor with a long and deep love for music.

Wayne has a degree in vocal performance from the University of Canterbury, and has performed in ensembles and roles in Christchurch, throughout New Zealand, and in Scotland.

Wayne was delighted to make his Toi Toi Opera debut in December 2023, singing the role of Bob Cratchit in Philip Norman's A Christmas Carol, which he reprised for their sold out repeat season of the opera in December 2024.

He also sang the role of Alfred in the company’s March 2024 season of Die Fledermaus, and is excited to be joining his Christchurch operatic family once again in 2025 for Riders to the Sea.
