Nicole Hannen as Sylviane Bogdanovich
A versatile freelance vocalist, originally from Picton, Nicole showcases her talent across a diverse range of musical events, transitioning between genres such as opera, musical theatre, cabaret, jazz, and even country music.
Nicole completed her Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice Performance at the New Zealand School of Music and was the award winner of the 2nd year voice student of the year in 2017. In addition to her solo musical pursuits, Nicole has a rich history in choral music, most notably touring with the New Zealand Secondary Students Choir in 2013 - 2014.
Nicole's extensive solo and chorus repertoire includes memorable performances from renowned works such as Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, The Marriage of Figaro, Dido and Aeneas, Don Pasquale, and Handel's Messiah, among many others.
In December 2023, she made her Toi Toi Opera debut, playing Belinda Cratchit and singing as part of the ghostly chorus of their season of Philip Norman’s A Christmas Carol, and in 2024 she sang the role of Cherubino Pig in the company’s season of John Davies’ children’s opera, The Three Little Pigs. Nicole was also a featured soloist in the company’s Serenade to Music celebration concert in August 2025.
In addition to singing the role of Sylviane Bogdanovich, Nicole is also covering the role of Valencienne Zeta.
