Ian Lester as Konrad Pritschitsch

Ian became addicted to theatre when he made the transition from brass musician to acting with Repertory, Elmwood, Harlequin, Riccarton and Rangiora Players.

Ian has also worked with Top Dog Theatre in West, Bouncers, and four Summer Shakespeare productions, including Much Ado About Nothing and Twelfth Night.

Ian has been a member of the New Zealand Opera Chorus, most recently appearing in their Christchurch season of The Barber of Seville.

Ian’s other performance credits include musicals The Sound of Music, The Music Man, Brassed Off, and with Showbiz Christchurch The Full Monty, Spamalot, Sister Act, and Wicked.

The Merry Widow marks Ian’s Toi Toi Opera company debut.
