Anna Engelbrecht - Keening Woman

Anna began her musical journey at the age of eight, competing in country music competitions before progressing to classical voice training during high school.

After relocating to Christchurch in 2024 she resumed vocal studies under the guidance of Margot Button and Zara Ballara.

In 2025, Anna made her operatic debut with the New Zealand Opera Freemasons Chorus in La bohème and looks forward to further developing her performance career.

In addition to singing in the chorus of keening women, Anna is also covering the role of Nora in Riders to the Sea. This is her first performance with Toi Toi Opera.
