Warwick Shillito as Baron Mirko Zeta

After performing in modern dance company Danceworks in Australia as a young man, Warwick discovered musical theatre in 2015 in The Phantom of the Opera, then as Patsy in Spamalot, both for Showbiz Christchurch.

Subsequently for Showbiz he has performed Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray (2016), ensemble in Evita (2016), Sister Act (2017), and Miss Saigon (2019), Colonel Pickering in My Fair Lady (2023), Bill Austin in Mamma Mia (2024), Nick Marsden in Come from Away (2025) and Grandpa Joe in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2026).

For North Canterbury Musicals his roles have included Max Detweiler in The Sound of Music (2017), Larry in Company (2017), Sir Danvers Carew in Jekyll & Hyde (2018), Andre Thibault in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2019), Reuben in Joseph and The Amazing Technical Dreamcoat (2021), President Roosevelt in Annie (2022), and Mister Lawrence in Little Women (2025). For Variety Theatre Ashburton he played Monsieur Thenardier in Les Misérables (2024).

For NZ Opera he has performed in Madame Butterfly (2015), La Traviata (2016), Carmen (2017), Tosca (2018), The Barber of Seville (2019), The Marriage of Figaro (2021), Macbeth (2022), and Cosi fan tutte (2023) as a member of the opera chorus.

For Toi Toi Opera he has performed the role of Scrooge in Philip Norman’s A Christmas Carol (2023 & 2024 seasons).

During the day he teaches anatomy, physiology and pathology at Ara Institute of Canterbury and the University of Canterbury.
