Sophie Gilmore as Dodo (Grisette)

A born Cantabrian, Sophie is a 2020 graduate of the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts (NASDA), holding a Bachelor of Performing Arts, specializing in Musical Theatre.

She has been heavily involved in the theatre and music scene since the young age of four, having two seasoned performers as parents inspiring her to pursue her passion.

Most recently, Sophie sang the role of Mrs Ethel Teavee in the New Zealand premiere of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Showbiz Christchurch in 2026.

Her other theatre credits include Come From Away (Janice), Kinky Boots (Lauren U/S), Broadway Hitmen, Mamma Mia!, Monty Python’s Spamalot, all Showbiz Christchurch); 42nd Street (Anytime Annie), Holiday Inn (Lila Dixon), Urinetown (Penelope Pennywise), The Unforgiven Harvest, Curtains, It’s Only Life, for NASDA; Waiting in the Wings for Blackboard Theatre Collective), and Christ! What a Night (Two Productions).

This is her first appearance for Toi Toi Opera.
