Ingrid Gunby took up classical singing four years ago, to see if she could. She studied with Margot Button for three years, and following Margot’s move to Auckland has continued her vocal studies with Elizabeth Emeleus.

Ingrid is a member of the NZ Opera Chorus, appearing in Le comte Ory (2024) and La Bohème (2025).

This is her third appearance with Toi Toi Opera, having performed as part of their 6th birthday celebration concert Serenade to Music, and as a Keening Woman in their production of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Riders to the Sea, bothin 2025.

In addition to singing the role of Margot, Ingrid is also covering the roles of Olga Kromov and Praskovia Pritschitsch.
